I uploaded a new article from Cindy Lynn - "A Mom's Perspective On Doing Disney With Kids - Part 2 - The Thrills" .

This time she shares her experiences on the thrills you and your family will enjoy at Disney World. She takes you thru each of the parks, (Magic Kingdom, MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom and Epcot) and tells you which rides are the most thrilling and why she feels so.

Use Your Points As A DVC Member For More Than Disney World

Disney World is an absolutely AWESOME place, but as a Disney Vacation Club member, do you know you can experience much, much more than the magic of Disney World.

With all the places that have partnered with Disney, you can travel to many places worldwide and experience the lavishness of many hotels that would otherwise cost you quite a bit of change.

Getting The Rosenhan's Photos Up From Disney World

I'm finally getting to setting up the page(s) for Karl and Terri Rosenhan's 10th Wedding Anniversary Vow Renewal at Disney World's Wilderness Lodge Resort.

I have some of the photos uploaded and a page created, but I'm far from done... Using a dialup machine to upload and check out any errors... This is brutal!

I'll be home tomorrow and will work on it more, but if you want to take a look now, Click Here

Farewell To Disney World . . . For Now!

Well, it's time for the vacation to come to a halt, and the sadness looms the air :-(

Sitting at the Orlando International Airport waiting for our 4:10 flight back to Pittsburgh. Flying Southwest again. We came in non-stop from Pittsburgh, and going back non-stop. It's the only way to fly... A couple of hours and you're done.

Disney World was a blast, and the "cast members" were extremely pleasant, well for the most part. There were a couple that seemed to NOT have the Disney spirit, but we're all human.

In the coming weeks, I'll clean up the site and get the photos and videos uploaded.

Now, need to focus on when we're coming back... We have reservations for the week of July 4th, but I'm thinking maybe a short stint before that even, maybe spring... You know, just to get warmed up :-)

Spent Yesterday With The Rosenhans...

Cindy and I met Karl and Terri Rosenhans at Epcot. We all just walked around shopping and snacking at the different countries, and even had some Woodpecker Cider (one of Karl's favorites).

We enjoyed a great dinner at Le Celliere. The food and service was much better than I remember from last year. We had a simply wonderful server this time, Ali, who kept up with Karl and my shenanigans, and even had some pretty good wit of her own.

The four of us finished the day off by doing Figment's Imaginationn and then parting to go to our seperate resorts.

December 7, 2009

The day started off with breakfast at our resort (Saratoga Springs) counter service, The Artist's Palette. Breakfast was ok. Just as I remember it. I think the lunches there are much better.

After walking around to check out a few things, like the fitness center, which I didnt know they had, and we stayed here last year, we went back and changed into our swimwear and tried the hot tub out. It was great, but the swimming pool was COLD!... Since it's going to be a warm day today (8th), we'll try the pool a little later.

Now, back to yesterday... After the hot tub experience, we went back to our suite, showered, and made reservations for Cape May for 7pm.

Cape May, located in the Beach and Yacht Club Resort is HIGHLY recommended. It is a buffet specializing in seafood, but has the roast beef, and other "land lover" items, like pizza, mac and cheese, salads, soups, etc.

Again, I highly recommend Cape May. We got there maybe 20-30 minutes before our reservation time, and was seated in 2 minutes. Staff was friendly and the service was great.

We came back to Saratoga Springs after that, and planned to go to get up at 6am today to spend the day at Epcot, but didnt get up until after 9am, so we'll see how the day goes.

Hanging Around At Hollywood Studios

After starting the day late and having our first meal at the Polynesian Resort's Captain Cook, we took the bus to the Hollywood Studios Theme Park.

Once there, we mulled around the park, saw the Muppets 3D and then watched the Osborne lights for a while, but I got disenchanted with the rudeness of the people, so we headed toward the Tower of Terror / Rock N Roller Coaster area, and stopped at the market to grab a bite, and met up with Karl and Terri Rosenhan.

After eating at the market, (nothing to rave about), the four of us went back to the Osborne lights. The crowd had dissipated somewhat because the park had closed to only those that were staying at the resorts. It was much more enjoyable watching the lights.

We parted from the Rosenhans and went back to the Tower Of Terror / Rock N Roller Coaster area for our thrill seeking for the evening. We hit the Tower of Terror and there was no wait at all. Then we stood in line maybe about 10 minutes for the Rock N Roller Coaster.

After getting a little fill of thrill, we headed back to our suite at The Grandstands section of the Saratoga Springs resort.

Yesterday turned out to be a great day, even if we started out late.

Captain Cook - A Really Nice Counter Service

We made it to the Polynesian Resort in just one bus ride. When we got to our bus stop outside our suite at the Grandstands in Saratoga Springs, the bus for Magic Kingdom was pulling up.

While I was putting the wheelchair in the back door, Cindy was climbing thru the front, crutches and all. she mentioned to the bus driver that we were going to the Polynesian Resort via Magic Kingdom.

Well, as Disney Magic would have it, no one else got on the bus, so... The bus driver took us straight to the Polynesian Resort.

Only in Disney World! :-)

The reviews about Captain Cook were right on the money - the food was very tasty.

Definitely recommended as great counter service if you're on any Disney Dining Plan, or great sandwich shop if you're paying cash.

A Lazy Sunday In Disney World

Slept in this morning at Saratoga Springs Resort after a late night dinner in Downtown Disney at the Ragland Road.

Cindy and I decided to try something else new, and she googled some counter services (have to use them up by the time we leave on Wednesday), and found that Captain Cooks at the Polynesian Resort had the best reviews, so we'll try that.

So we're off to the Polynesian Resort to sample the eats at Captain Cooks.

Eating at the Ragland Road

There's a great Irish restaurant just east of Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney called Ragland Road.

Once again the food was AWESOME!

I wanted to try the Guinness, so Cindy agreed to take a sip or two. I know I've had it before, but can't remember where. It was probably here when we had lunch with Karl and Terri Rosenhan last year.

Wolfgang Puck Express in Downtown Disney

Had lunch with friends, the Rosenhans (Karl & Terri) and the Bransons (Mike, Sondra and their son Hayden) at Wolfgang Puck Express around noon-ish.

Savory meals and the company was delightful, as always.

We all had something different and as is the Disney way, everything looked exquisite and tasted wonderful.

Wolfgang Puck Express is definitely a Must-Do-Again!

The New Greek Restaurant - Kouzzina

The wait at Kouzzina was reasonable. Maybe 20 minutes at most. The Kona Cafe could learn from that. When I make a reservation, I don't expect to stand in line with everyone that didn't and get seated after everyone before me, especially if I came in time for my reservation.

That was not the case at Kouzzina. Everything from the time we waited thru dessert was great!

We started off with a Cat Cora specialty - an Ouzo-tini. Neither Cindy nor I are really drinkers, so we shared one. It was delightful.

We're on the regular dining plan this trip, so we're paying extra for things like that and appetizers at some places. (Did it at the California Grill too.)

We both had delicious entrees. Cindy had the Cinnamon Stewed Chicken and I had the Fishermen's Stew... Yummy, yummy, yummy!

Our appetizers and desserts were just as good... More of the dining experience at Kouzzina on the site, as soon as I get time to get it done...

... As for now, we're off to Downtown Disney to meet the Rosenhans and Bransons for lunch. We're shooting for Wolfgang Puck's Express.

Still raining at Disney World

Standing in the lobby of Kouzzina's after walking the Boardwalk in the rain.

Cindy says "the food better be good." ... I think it will be. It's Disney after all! :-)

Eating at the Kona Cafe on a rainy Friday morn

Had reservations at 10:40 this morning.

Everything rolled smoothly - took only one bus from Saratoga Springs to get to the Polynesian Resort. It was actually the Magic Kingdom bus but it went to the Poly from there.

Once there, we had a forty minite wait BEFORE we were seated. I think it was due to everyone staying in from the rain.

Cindy and I both had the Big Kahuna - Delicious!

I'll get the pictures uploaded later.

La Nouba Is A Terrific Show

Yesterday Cindy and I took the boat from Saratoga Springs to Pleasure Island heading for the 6pm showing of Cirque de Soleil's La Nouba on the westside of Downtown Disney.

The show was terrific. So much talent. It was the first time Cindy had seen them and the first time I had seen them live (and not on tv).

We ran across a couple new restaurants at Pleasure Island but didn't get time to try them out yet - we will ;-)

One More Day To Disney World

Just one more day, and I'll be in Disney World for a week. Arriving Dec 2nd and leaving Dec. 9th. Great way to top off 2009! :-)

Starting to upload the photos from my TWO trips in 2008 . . . And to think I was one that thought Disney World had nothing to offer me as an adult.

How wrong I was!
